I’m Etienne Marais. I code because I get to action the changes & ideas I want to see in the world to impact people’s lives in a positive way.
I have always been interested in how things work but also why they work. I believe that coding is not just about creating software, but about empowering people and making a positive impact in the world. That’s why I code, because it allows me to action the changes and ideas I want to see in the world and ultimately, impact people’s lives in a positive way.
As a developer, I strongly believe in valuing people over work. I understand that technology can sometimes be overwhelming, and that’s why I approach problem-solving with empathy and understanding. I strive to simplify complex problems and find solutions that are not only effective but also user-friendly. I believe that doing something thoroughly is important, that is why I take pride in what I do.
I also value mentorship and encourage others to challenge the status quo and themselves. I believe that everyone has the potential to be a great developer, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with others. I help teams solve problems in simple ways, and I am always looking for ways to improve both myself and the people around me. Whether it’s through teaching, collaborating, or simply providing guidance, I strive to make a positive impact on the people I work with and the communities I am a part of.
